What is glycol?

Glycol is the antifreeze liquid that keeps your system running, even in freezing cold temperatures, it prevents heating systems from freezing over and it protects against heating failures caused by frozen pipes. With some heat meters Glycol liquid can often cause issues, causing in-accurate meter readings. Thankfully, Sontex SA provides an entire heat meter range which is fully Glycol tolerant. If you see the Sontex logo, you know you're good to Glycol!

Where is Glycol used?

Glycol solution can be added to a heating installation to prevent pipes from freezing. Once the winter arrives and the temperatures drop, heating systems have to contend with frozen pipes and have to work harder to maintain the desired temperature.

How to add Glycol to a system?

The Glycol solution is added into the pipework, which is then mixed with the water used to transport the heat around the location. There are currently over 90 known Glycol solutions which are compatible with the entire Sontex collection of heat meters. This list is always monitored and reviewed! 

Where is Glycol used?

Glycol heating fluid can be used in many heating installations, including heat pumps, GSHP, ASHP and other traditional heating applications.
