<p>European Directive 2004/22/EC is aimed at harmonising the regulations and classifications in the area of <a title="Water metering products" href="http://www.dmsltd.com/Water_Meters_-_Hot_and_Cold" target="_self">water metering</a> across Europe. With effect from 30th October 2006 it replaces all European directives and national regulations making it necessary for all water meters to meet the standard of NF EN14154 and/or recommendation <a title="OIML R49" href="http://www.nmo.bis.gov.uk/content.aspx?sc_id=337" target="_blank">OIML R49</a>.</p>

<p>So what does this mean in practice? Well it changes the baseline that is used to define the metering performance of a water meter.</p>

<li>Q3 : Continuous flowrate</li>
<li>R : Q3/Q1 ratio (where Q1 is the flowrate)</li>
</ul>

<li>Q2 : The transition flowrate given by Q2/Q1</li>
<li>Q4 : The overload flowrate given by Q4/Q3</li>
</ul>

<p>The company started life as Direct Metering Supplies Limited but decided to rename itself during 2004 recognising that nearly all their clients had adopted the abbreviation &#8216;DMS.&#8217;</p>
<p>Over 10 years DMS have established themselves as a major supplier of Water Meters, Heat and Cooling Meters, Gas Meters, Electricity Meters and Oil Meters. They hold comprehensive stocks at their premises in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire and can despatch most orders the same day.</p>
<p>They have established excellent relationships with their European suppliers and are proud to represent such major names in the industry such as Sontex, Kamstrup, GWF, Apator PoWogaz, Wateau, Elster, Samgas and Tecnocontrol.</p>

<p>The DMS Dynamic is available in two versions: a stand-alone flow meter, and an energy flow meter used in conjunction with a Supercal 531 Heat Integrator. The energy flow meter measures energy usage in kWh or MWh and is ideal for retrofit, chilled water and other HVAC applications.</p>
