Kamstrup a leading supplier of energy metering now introduces the MULTICAL 801.

The Kamstrup MULTICAL 801 is an energy meter suited to industrial and commercial applications where the meter is exposed to extreme environmental conditions. The following text is taken from the Kamstrup press release.

Under the headline “Don’t let poor equipment get you down” Kamstrup launches the MULTICAL^® 801, an energy meter of its own class. Power supply back-up, valve control and IP67-sealing ensure precise metering of heat and cooling consumption even in dusty and moist environments.

In the commercial & industry segment metering equipment is often exposed to rough influences. MULTICAL^® 801 is a meter designed for delivering precise data even under extreme conditions.

Due to its IP67 sealing MULTICAL^® 801 is robust and capable of functioning even in dusty and moist environments. Furthermore the backlit display is readable regardless of the light conditions.

MULTICAL^® 801 is compatible with temperature sensors like Pt100 and Pt500 versions with a 2- or 4-wire connection. The capacity ranges from 0,6 to 30.000m3/h in a temperature span from 2^o C-180^o C.

MULTICAL^® 801 is based on proven technology, but a number of extra features have been added in order to meet the most demanding applications.

Back-up function

In case of power outage an internal battery maintains all basic metering functions.

Valve controller
A built-in valve controller automatically limits effect, maximum flow and temperature difference once the flow rate has been set.

Leakage control
MULTICAL^® 801 equipped with flow meters in both flow and return pipes generates leakage control and submersion surveillance on heating systems as well as cold water pipes. As another feature, impulses from connected water meters reveal leakages in the tap water system.
The intelligent warning system reduces repair costs and prevents spilling of water.
Several communication channels
MULTICAL^® 801 provides four analogue pulse outputs for remote reading via radio, GSM/GPRS, M-Bus, LonWorks or one of Kamstrup’s network solutions. MULTICAL^® 801 manages up to four communication channels.

Data loggers
All consumption data are stored for 460 days, 36 months and 15 years. MULTICAL^® 801 contains a data logging module with a programmable logging interval. This enables an accurate analysis of the energy consumption and a means for trouble shooting.

Of the highest standard
MULTICAL^® 801 is certified for the EN 1434-4:2007, the environmental class C and tested and approved according to the MID, the M1, E1, and E2. In the industrial class E2 the meter is certified for 100m cables for temperature sensors and flow meter.
