Jeavons Safety Devices
Elster-Instromet has developed a range of safety control devices to guarantee the safe control of gas to protect equipment and appliances from excessive variations above and below the designed pressure parameters. This includes pressure and creep relief valves, over pressure and under pressure slam shut valves and low pressure cut off valves.
They can be used with natural, liquified petroleum and manufactured gases.
These units, designed where appropriate to National and International standards, give high efficiency and sensitivity with maximum flow and minimum pressure loss.
S100 Safety device DN50 DN80 DN100
The S100 Slam Shut Valve protects gas installations against dangerous overpressure conditions and is normally fitted on the inlet side of the regulator.
The S100 incorporates a visual valve position indicator. It can be supplied with a microswitch for remote indication. The manual reset has an automatic integral equalising valve ensuring safe resetting procedures and eliminating costly by-pass systems. The S100 can be mounted in any orientation. The unit can be specified with the reset mechanism on either side of the body.
J120 Low Pressure Cutoff Valve
The J120 is a safety valve which ensures the integrity of an installation in the event of loss of gas pressure. In the event of pressure drop, the J120 is activated and shuts off the gas supply to the down stream appliances until the manual or automatic reset mechanism is operated. The J120 is available in sizes from ¾" to 2" and supplied factory set.
The J120 ensures the safety and integrity of an installation in the event of unacceptably low gas pressure or failure of the gas supply. In such a situation, burners could become extinguished and, upon restoration of the supply, gas could pass through open cocks. To prevent this, the J120 operates at a pre-set gas pressure and automatically shuts off the supply.
Upon restoration of the gas supply, all downstream burner cocks must be closed before the J120 reset mechanism allows the gas to flow.
The J120 is designed for horizontal and vertical pipelines. It is suitable for operation with natural, liquefied petroleum and manufactured gases.
